Abandoned cars at church to be removed
Abandoned vehicles in a church car park are destined for the dump today if the owners do not pick them up.
Leonard Santucci, pastor at the Vernon Temple AME Church in Southampton, said the two cars, one black and one white, have been left in the church car park for a month.
He added: “This is the second time we have found ourselves in this situation since October.
“It’s a bit ridiculous if people leave vehicles without permission and it becomes incumbent on the property owners to remove them.
“They are of value to someone, but they are obstructing our use of the property and we want them taken away.”
Dr Santucci contacted The Royal Gazette after a letter published this week sparked action to remove a truck left at the verge of Marsh Folly Road.
Notices were posted on both cars this week to warn of today’s deadline.
Dr Santucci said the Transport Control Department had been notified, but that TCD was unable to release the names of the vehicles’ owners.
