Police warning after chains snatched

Police are asking the public to use discretion when wearing expensive jewellery after two incidents of chain-snatching.

One of the victims suffered non-life threatening injuries, according to police.

A police spokesman said: “As a result of these latest incidents it is once again strongly recommended that members of the public consider not having their expensive jewellery on display in public and remain vigilant for any unknown or suspicious individuals approaching them.”

Witnesses should call the Criminal Investigation Department on 247-1744.
