Neil De Ste Croix won the opening race of the Conrads Mountain Bike Series this weekend.The Bicycle Works ride went ahead halfway through the opening lap, and in the end finished comfortably ahead of Peter Dunne, and third placed Grant Goudge.Goudge looked like he would take second for most of the race, but threw his chain on the last lap, and Dunne nipped past him to snatch the runner’s-up spot.In the B race, Dexter Swan led from start to finish, with Scott Mello second, and newcomer Hans Hirschi third.Elizabeth Jordan was the only entrant in the female section, as was Jesse Godfrey in the female under-12 race. In the junior boys races, Daniel Oatley held off Daniel Hetzel to take the Male 13-16 division, with Michael Botteto third.Meanwhile Robin Horsefield dominated the Male Under-12 race, finishing well ahead of Christian Oatley, who was second, and Jakee Simons, who was third.
