Somerset CC 156 and 152
Cleveland County 133 and 179-9
In Third Division play, Dennis Musson jr seized match figures of eight for 73 and Courtney Trott stroked a half century to propel Cleveland to a narrow one-wicket triumph over Somerset at Somerset Cricket Club.
Musson claimed four Somerset first innings wickets for 35 to help restrict the home team ? who had won the toss and elected to bat ? to a modest total of 156.
In-form batsman Azeem Pitcher led Somerset with 53 off 53 balls, including ten fours and a six. Skipper Reid Jones weighed in with 19.
Aiding Musson in the bowling was Derek Musson and Tamari Tucker who each took two wickets.
Cleveland fell 23 runs shy of Somerset?s first innings total with Kevin Shield (33), Trott (30) and Patrick Stamp (20) among the runs.
Jacobi Robinson was the pick of the Somerset bowling, claiming five for 40, his second five-wicket haul of the season.
Veteran Bajan all-rounder Wendell White took two for 17.
In their second turn at bat Somerset again failed to compile a formidable total. They posted 152 with Dwight Basden smashing his second half century (64) of the season off exactly 100 balls.
Basden blasted nine fours and a six while Pitcher added 48 off 68 balls (three fours and three sixes) before he fell just shy of another half century.
Musson jr again led the Cleveland bowling, claiming four for 38 while Tucker grabbed three for 55 and Barry Gibbons two for 23.
Cleveland struggled to reach the winning target, losing nine wickets in the process. Trott led their batting with 51 off 79 balls (six fours and a six) while Shield made 46 and Stephen Douglas 24.
Robinson was again the pick of the Somerset bowling with three for 43 while White had two for 26.
