Beek gives sharks extra bite

Fishbowl League, with a further half point separating Mackerel in fourth place after the latest action.

Sharks took the Piranhas to task with a 3-1 win as Norman Beek had a 535 series and third game of 202 for the winners.

Angel Fish showed off their colours as they beat Snappers 4-0, thanks to Douglas Brown's second high series and game 552 and 207. Ann Mitchell tried unsuccessfuly to lead Snappers in a bid for a share of the points, bowling a 533 series and 202 game.

Hinds and Tuna battled it out with Hinds coming out ahead 3-1 while Barracuda won by the same margin over Mackerel.

Marlins and Rockfish played to a 2-2 draw as Joe Correia led the Marlins with a 556 series while Clem Lespere added the men's high game 213 and third high series 548. For Rockfish, Lydia Mullin bowled the women's second high game 197.

Wahoo defeated Cow Pollies 3-1 as Cathee Tumbridge led the winners with the women's third series 496 while Barbara Smith spirited the Pollies with the second high series and teammate Peggy Mello supported with the third game 196.

Completing the night's action, Porgies went after Dolphins and came away with all four points as Chin Siong Wah and Quinton Mallory bowled 522 and 521 respectively for the winners. Tops for Wahoo was Dwayne Lewis with a 512 series.

Once again action in the Miller High Life League produced lopsided results.

Marlboro started the trend with their 251 -41 win over an off-form Thompson's team. Putting together a consistent effort was Chris Bardgett as Marlboro rolled to the third high team game of 983 and second high series of 2,862.

Although not making the honours board, Bardgett did roll a 224 game and 613 series.

Terminators got back on the winning path with the closest match of the evening with their 18-12 win over Stevendoring Services. Individually, Steven Paul rolled the third high series 627 to lead the winners while Woody Jones was the top kegler for the losers.

Tools and Equipment maintained their lead at the top of the table with a 25-5 win over Spoilers. Once again T&E rolled the top game and series, 1,035 and 2,955, thanks to the efforts of Conrad Lister's 270 game which was the highest in the league this season.

Lister also added a 631 series with Steven Riley only one pin behind with a 630 series. For the losers, Robert Dill rolled the second high game of 236 to share the honour with Carlos Estravit, who led Signature Card to an overwhelming victory over a short-handed Team Spirit.

The final match saw Gosling's continue their quick start with another 25-5 win over New Mix Ups. A steady effort produced winning results as Gosling's posted the second high team game of 1,011 and third high team series of 2,733.
