with defeat in the final yesterday.

The Bermuda youngster started the final against Mary Cox badly and lost the first set 6-0. Brooks came storming back to win the second set 6-4, but she went down 6-2 to the American in the decisive final set.

Brooks, seeded nine in the prestigious junior tournament in Atlanta, had ousted number one seed Bianca Svensson in a three-set quarter-final match on Tuesday before seeing off fifth seed MacKenzie Swindall 6-2, 6-1 in Wednesday's semi-final.

But the Island, who sent eight youngsters to the event, did come away with one title, as sisters Kara and Sasha Fisher won the girls 14 doubles with an 8-3 final victory over Eberhardt and Logsdon.

John Masters was another notable achiever yesterday, beating Eric Morgan 6-2, 6-4 to claim fifth place in the boys 12 singles. On Wednesday, Masters defeated fellow Bermudian Kris Frick.

Sasha Fisher also enjoyed a fine tournament and yesterday added sixth place in the girls 14 singles to her doubles title. Yesterday, Sasha lost 6-2, 6-1 to Kelly Moore in the fifth and sixth place play-off.

Kyle Williams ended with 17th place in the boys 14 singles. After going out in the round of 32 main draw, he won three consolation matches before going down yesterday 6-4, 6-1 against Eric Jackson.
