Parish feeling the pressure
Somerset picked up their second straight win, but goalkeeper Winslow Williams was almost forced to eat his words at Wellington Oval.
After Trojans took a 2-0 lead in the 61st minute, Williams went down to the Parish bench to make a bold statement: "You won't beat me twice.'' However, better finishing by Parish would have proved Williams wrong as the home team wasted a couple of good chances before finally finding the net in the 89th minute, by which time it was too late to salvage their first point of the season.
Parish were fortunate not to go behind as early as the fourth minute when a long ball upfield put David Burchall clear. He cut in from the left and squared the ball into the box where Andrew Rahman sidefooted over the bar.
Rahman looked more comfortable setting up chances and from his deep position on the right of midfield he forced a lot of work on the Parish defence.
Parish's first real chance came in the 28th minute when a series of nice touches around the box resulted in Irving Burgess' weak shot going straight to Williams. He made a better attempt to beat Williams with his next effort three minutes later when a lobbed shot from outside the box caused Williams all kinds of problems before the 'keeper tipped it over from just under the crossbar.
Trojans broke the deadlock seven minutes before the break when a good cross from Rahman found Burchall in the middle and his header from close range beat Cymande Davis from six yards.
Both teams made replacements at the start of the second half with Shane Burgess -- on for the injured Jamie Smith -- injecting new life into the Parish attack while Michael Brangman replaced Keion Simmons in the Trojans attack.
It was Brangman who scored the second Somerset goal, a simple tap across the line after Burchall had beaten the advancing Davis with a shot that was heading into goal. With Dalton Burgess trying to keep it out, Brangman followed up to force the ball over the line.
Just a minute prior, Parish were unlucky not to find the net when Jermaine Belboda, challenged by Dion Woolridge for a ball through the middle, extended a leg and steered the ball against the crossbar with Williams beaten.
Parish made it close in the 89th minute when Belboda's backheader hit the crossbar and Irving Burgess followed up to steer his header in from close range before Williams could recover.

Boulevard 0 North Village 2 North Village simply outclassed their opponents at Lords to stay among the First Division leaders.
And if it hadn't been for some fine goalkeeping from Andre Hendrickson, the Red Devils could have walked away with a much more convincing victory.
As early as the third minute Hendrickson was called into action as Jemeiko Jennings headed straight into his arms from four yards. Sergio Goater then found himself in the six yard box after a good cross from Kevin Jennings but his first touch let him down.
It was Elliott Jennings who fired his team into the lead in the 23rd minute from 16 yards after the in-form Kevin Jennings coolly laid off a pass with his back to goal. The shot went low and to Hendrickson's right.
Village ease to victory From Page 21 The start of the second half saw Jemeiko Jennings go into referee George O'Brien's book for retaliating after a tackle from Mitchell Trott.
And it was Jennings' shot in the 60th minute that just dropped over the crossbar following a delightful through ball which found him behind Boulevard's defence.
He made amends in the 77th minute after a good run down the left by Elliott Jennings stretched the defence, allowing Jemeiko to connect from four yards and beat keeper Hendrickson.
Three minutes later Jamel Smith forced Hendrickson to dive to his right to push his goal-bound shot around the post. And Hendrickson came good again in the 85th minute, keeping out a Jemeiko Jennings' penalty after the same player had been brought down.
Despite making three substitutions in the second half, Boulevard applied little pressure.
