Peter's the early leader
hotly-contested Etchells 22 class.
Bromby, second to Tim Patton in the recently completed local series, would take no back seat yesterday as he sailed across the line first ahead of Englishman Ted Fort and Patton.
Race two of the six race series is set for this afternoon in the Great Sound as the regatta gets off in earnest.
Yesterday featured just three of the nine classes competing and saw John Alofsin in first place after two races involving the J24 craft.
Alofsin recorded two firsts on the day to lead Bermudian Michael Emery by two and a half points. Emery recorded two second place finishes, while Kate Williams was third twice and thus stands in the number three position.
The only other class to see action was the always popular International One Designs (IOD) where Eugene (Penny) Simmons reigned supreme, grabbing two firsts.
Tied for second overall were Tony Leggett and John Burnham, both having recorded third and second place finishes.
