Singing star Carroll on cue . . .
in Bermuda this week, competing in the annual International Snooker League.
Carroll is a member of the England team, one of eight visiting sides taking part in the week-long event.
He came to Bermuda after an unsuccessful bid for a parliamentary seat in the recent British elections in which he was defeated by film star Glenda Jackson in the Hampstead and Highgate district of London.
Play got underway on Saturday and continued on Sunday when Bermuda's number one team of Steve Roberts, Steve Dunleavy and Dennis Coyle suffered a 4-2 defeat by reigning champions Wales.
Alan Wix defeated Roberts 2-0 and Keith Diss beat Coyle by the same score before Dunleavy hit back with a 2-0 win over Jon Cross.
Bermuda I then went down by the same score to Bermuda II and were also beaten by Halifax who are headed by Canadian amateur champion Ken Shea, who promptly handed Roberts his third loss.
Maurice Doucet of Halifax split 1-1 with DunLeavy and posted the new division high break of 52. Don Thomas of Halifax split the third match with Coyle.
England scored a decisive 5-1 win over Canada. England A player Noel Miller-Cheevers split with Canadian Paul Flemming 62-47 and 47-62. Charlie Smith of England out-potted David Wickes for two straight wins and Carroll beat Canada's Mone Fong 2-0.
Tuesday's play was highlighted by the match between Miller-Cheevers and Scotland's Peter Norrie.
Miller-Cheevers lost the first frame on the black but was determined to pick up at least one point. He went to the table with Norrie leading 17-0 and when he had finished the score was 90-17 in Miller-Cheevers' favour.
It remains the high break for the A Division.
