players when the seventh annual National Trust Calcutta tournament gets underway on the Coral Beach courts next week.

The event, organised by Robin Blackburne as a major fundraiser for the Trust, sees the seeded doubles pairs "auctioned off'' at a cocktail party prior to the start of play.

Part of that auction pot then goes to the Trust and the rest to those who back the winners.

Just three events -- men's, ladies' and mixed doubles -- are scheduled for the weekend tournament, which begins next Friday.

Players entered are ranked from A to C according to ability with next Wednesday's draw matching A with C players, and B with B. The auction then takes place at a Coral Beach cocktail party next Thursday.
