SQUASH SQU Tim Viney saved the day for Team CHRUSTI in a nail-biting 15-14 final against Jason Kyme of Oasis Night Owls as play continued in the AF Smith Corporate Squash Team tournament.

Number three string Russell Titmuss took CHRUSTI into an early 3-0 lead with a narrow victory over Viv Redford. Chris Thornton then notched a fourth game 15-14 win against Nite Owl's Suzanne Rose but Rose found another gear and stole the next two games 15-8, 15-9. This gave CHRUSTI a 4-2 lead and in need of only one more game for a place in the next round.

A determined Jason Kyme used his new and improved backhand drive to perfection to draw level with 15-13 and 15-12 wins against Viney. A seesaw and eventful deciding game ensued in which Viney, the demon from Dockyard, hit his head on the sidewall in a frantic attempt to retrieve a Kyme drive.
