Upset after being informed last week that he was only named as a "provisional'' member of Bermuda's Pan-Am Games team until he proved that he was in competitive shape, Douglas warned going into the race that Bermuda Olympic Association should "check Monday's papers''.

"It's a stupid question for them (BOA) to be asking,'' he said about his fitness. "If I give them my word that I am going to be ready for Pan-Am, then I am going to be ready. My record should speak for itself.'' Douglas is scheduled to compete in another meet in Moscow, Russia, tomorrow.
