International Championships, organised by Bermuda Junior Golf Association.

Tournament chairman Bob Legere reports that an "above average'' field makes up the entry with the boys 13-14 and 15-17 age groups once again deep in talent.

In the 13-14 division, 12-year-old Aaron James, one of the most talented juniors to break onto the local golf scene in recent years, will compete against older boys but is still expected to be the player to beat in a field which includes Bermuda's Fraser Hunt, Ryan Mello and Oliver Pitcher as well as American David Policano, the leading overseas players.

In the boys' 15-17 division the winner is expected to emerge from locals Andrew Trott, David James and Quinton Sherlock or the overseas trio of Doug Young and David Birimcombe of Canada and Keno Turnquest of the Bahamas.

The boys' 18-21 group will also be competitive with scratch player Rob Shahady and one handicapper Kieran Doherty expected to do battle with locals Michael Sims and Robert Spurling.

Defending girls' champion Sarah Thompson of Canada will be back to face the likes of Jameica Duncombe of the Bahamas, Beatrice Machado of Venezuela and the in-form Lindsey Sims of Bermuda.

The tournament gets underway on Tuesday at Belmont followed by play at Mid Ocean on Wednesday, at Port Royal on Thursday and the final round at Belmont on Friday.
