(BCBC) following Thursday night's elections, as rumoured challenges failed to materialise.

The embattled president ran unopposed and thus easily claimed the head position for a 13th term.

Rudolph Lawrence was also re-elected unopposed to resume duties as first vice-president.

However, there was some reshuffling among the lower executive with Clarence Tucker stepping down as second vice-president, Reginald Pearman, who had been tipped as a possible challenger to Bailey, relinquishing his post as secretary and now former assistant secretary Charlotte Simons doing likewise.

Keith Tucker takes over for his namesake as new second vice-president, while Wilton Smith went from treasurer to secretary, with Wally Manders the assistant secretary. Ellsworth Christopher steps into the treasurer spot.

A infusion of young blood pervades the six member management committee, with Allan Douglas of Cleveland, Arnold Manders of Western Stars, Southampton's Wayne Raynor, Delby Borden of St. David's, Vance Gilbert of Willow Cuts and Nationals' Neil Speight.

While, sorry to see old faces such as Pearman and George Byron (management committee) depart, Bailey was upbeat regarding his new team and the task ahead of bringing cricket back on track following a controversy plagued 1994 season.

"I think we have a nice balance with people from different generations getting involved,'' said Bailey. "There are new faces rising to the top.

We'll have to see what happens, these fellows have taken on the challenge and I will give them the responsibility of serving on committees and making changes where necessary.'' Immediate duties include finalising plans for a tour to Florida next month, to be followed by a visit to the Island by the Australian Test squad.

Also on the agenda are getting a viable junior programme in working order and Bermuda's participation in the International Youth Tournament in Holland.

Bailey also intimated that he had received confirmation from the Department of Youth, Sport and recreation that funds will be provided for the purpose of hiring a national coach.

The first meeting of the new executive will take place on Tuesday. The season is scheduled to begin in mid-April.
