BFA forced to revise schedule
yesterday confirmed a number of make-up games, starting with tonight's Friendship Trophy encounter between Smoerset and North Village at BAA Field.
It will be the fourth time an attempt has been made to play this match, the latest postponement coming on Tuesday night when steady rain flooded the pitch at BAA.
The two teams will return tonight at 8.00 in a bid to finally have the match played. Somerset are also due to play a make-up league match with Devonshire Cougars on Saturday night.
Also on Saturday, the Commercial Division match between Wolves Pack and Somerset Extros has been switched from Shelly Bay II to Shelly Bay I at 1.00 while the match betwee Fire Service and Devonshire Lions, which was postponed on January 7, will take place at Police Field at 1.00.
An Alliance Division match between Devonshire Cougars and BAA, called off on January 28, will be played on Saturday at Devonshire Rec at 3.00.
In the juniors, a Bantam Knockout Cup game which was postponed on January 7, is scheduled for Saturday at Bernard Park at 11.30, between North Village and Wolves.
Also rescheduled for Saturday is a Bantam League match between PHC Whites and PHC Blacks, starting at 11.30 at PHC Stadium. The match was switched from tomorrow night.
Meanwhile, the Crystal Palace semi-final matches have been changed around to allow St. George's to play in front of their First Division team on the day of the second FA Cup semi-final on March 5.
Instead of playing on Sunday prior to the Vasco-PHC FA semi-final, St.George's and North Village will now play before the St. George's-Devonshire Cougars semi-final.
The junior match originally scheduled for that date -- Somerset v Devonshire Colts -- has now been brought forward to this Sunday at Southampton Oval.
