However, the establishment of the club came too late this year to obtain a grant from Government to help cover insurance payments -- an issue which has now been given priority. The group are seeking sponsors and other donations to help pay the $3,500 fee.

A meeting is scheduled for October 22 at National Sports Club starting at 7.30 p.m. Anyone interested in helping out is asked to attend and further information can be obtained from David Jones of Hi-Performance Race School at 292-0262.

The season is planned to start on November 1 and 13 race dates have been pencilled in up to April 18. Race meets will begin at 11.00 a.m. and run until approximately 5.00 p.m.
