Browns combine for brilliant 58 at Belmont
the second round at Belmont golf course under perfect conditions.
In the net division, Douglas and Irene Brown combined for a fantastic 58, beating out the local team of Leslie Watson and James Madeiros by three strokes.
However, in the overall net division, combining the two courses played so far, Watson and Madeiros returned the favour of a splendid total of 111, which is only two strokes ahead of Douglas and Irene Brown who are on 113. This division is wide open as the rest of the field is close behind.
In the gross division, the local pair of Teri-Lynn Calderon and Charles Hartnett finished with a 78, four shots ahead of, again, Leslie Watson and James Madeiros on 82.
In the overall standings so far, Calderon and Hartnett are ahead on 144, nine strokes in front of Watson and Madeiros. Today is a free day with the final round switching to St. George's tomorrow.
