Canadians cancel tour
the Island by Canadian side Inter-Italia.
The team, a prominent club competing in the Manitoba Soccer League, were due to play matches in Bermuda on November 21, 23, 25 and 28 against local opposition.
But Bermuda Football Association General Secretary, David Sabir said a Canadian official had told him the team could not meet the financial obligations to go through with the tour. This coupled with undisclosed internal matters meant it became necessary for the trip to be cancelled.
"Although disappointed that the tour will not take place, the BFA will continue its efforts to foster relationships with teams overseas with the hopes of exposing our players to more international competition,'' Sabir said.
He said the void left in schedule would most likely be reserved for any make-up matches that become necessary.
