Former league champions Safeguard, who defaulted their opening match, joined newcomers Quickie Lickie in pulling out because of a shortage of players. PHC, who previously played in the league, left at the end of the 1992 season to join the Premier Division.

This weekend's remaining two fixtures -- Forties v West Indian Association and Devonshire Stars v Pembroke United -- will go ahead but league secretary Dave Carruthers said he would have to consult his executive committee before drawing up a new schedule early next week.

A training session will be held tomorrow morning for all Flatts cricketers at 9.30 at Flatts field.
