The pair, competing in the 420 class at the event in Sydney, are in 11th place with 71 points, four points behind 10th placed New Zealand.

The girls' best finish to date was a first in the fourth race over the weekend and since then they have ended up with 14th, 15th, 8th, 7th and 16th place finishes respectively. Having discarded their two worst finishes the pair hold a creditable position among the 21 entrants.

The boys' 420 team of Jonathan Carter and Giles Spurling are 27th out of 28, having also taken part in nine races up to yesterday. Their best finish so far is 22nd.
