DeSilva suffers in final

two sets in Saturday's 14-and-under singles final of the Caribbean Development Tennis Championships in Antigua.

DeSilva had been leading her Barbadian opponent, Arianna Marshall, 5-3 in the first set when she complained to the referee of feeling sick.

After a short break she returned to the court but lost the next four games and the set, 7-5, and went down in the second set 2-6.

"It was unfortunate, because Zarah had been playing very well,'' said Zane DeSilva, who accompanied the trio of Bermuda players to the tournament. "But all credit to Arianna, she played very well to win.'' Earlier in the week, Jovan Whitter had finished seventh overall, winning his final round robin match 6-3, 6-0 over Nathan Voogt of Netherland Antilles.

Danielle Downey went down 0-6, 2-6 to Sonia Ramcharran in her final round-robin match.
