Dream trip `still on' assures agent
ahead, even if the West Indies tour doesn't.
News of the tour being threatened emerged yesterday when it was revealed that captain Brian Lara, vice captain Carl Hooper and other Windies stars flew from Bangladesh to England rather than South Africa for an emergency meeting over pay.
But Pam Maybury of Meyer Travel, who will accompany a local group on a 28-day tour which includes tickets for the first Test match in Johannesburg, assured that after months of planning their trip was still on, leaving next Monday.
"It wouldn't affect us, we're all set to go,'' said Maybury yesterday, having earlier heard about the developments.
"We're going anyway, everything is completely paid for and is non-refundable.
"We're going on a 28-day tour and the last part of the tour entails the cricket. Yes, we would be disappointed that we won't see cricket, if it is not on.
"We are going to see the first Test, so hopefully they will have it resolved by then.''
