Hood hurt by Thomas dismissal
Division on Saturday when they were held to a 1-1 draw by FA Cup quarter-finalists MR Onions at White Hill field.
Jar McCabe scored for Hood while the division's joint top scorer, Bill Spencer netted for Onions, taking his tally for the season to 13.
Hood were forced to play for more than an hour with only 10 men after their top marksman Derek Thomas was sent off by referee Gregory Grimes in the 22nd minute for foul language.
The match was then held up for about three minutes as Thomas continued to threaten the official before being escorted away from the bench area by his coach.
The draw by Hood enabled second-placed BAA Wanderers to move within a point of the leaders after their 6-0 rout of bottom team Exiles who had Craig Outerbridge sent off for abusive language.
Paul Nicholson netted for Wanderers in the 14th and 20th minutes before substitute Mark Thorne added the third in the 65th minute. Dave Lawler then helped himself to two goals in the 67th and 77th minutes before another substitute, Dave Hope, scored the sixth a minute later.
Lobster Pot, who were level on 31 points with Wanderers before the weekend, had their match with Vasco Mariners postponed. That match will be played tonight at BAA Field at 8.00.
Third-from-bottom PHC Raiders scored an important victory when they came from behind to beat Fire Service 2-1. Both goals came from Des Minors who took his tally in nine seasons in the Commercial League to 199. It was his ninth and 10th goals of the season, having not played for three weeks because of work commitments.
North Village Rams and Prison Officers drew 2-2 as all four goals came in a 12-minute period in the first half. Brian Brangman put Officers in front in the 26th minute before Derek Bell equalised for Rams three minutes later.
Then Millard Rawlins put Officers back in front in the 33rd minute before Kacy Simons equalised for Rams in the 38th minute.
In Division B, Tuff Dogs kept a slim grip on first place with their 3-0 win over previous leaders St. George's All-Stars. Harry Andrews netted twice in the first half in the 21st and 44th minutes while Joe Carolo added the third after 71 minutes.
Devonshire All-Stars remain a point behind in second place after being awarded the points and a 3-0 win over Belco who have withdrawn from the league.
Valley won by default over Bermuda Pest Control and they, too, have been awarded a 3-0 win.
Tonight's women's FA Cup match between Dandy Stars and Wolves has been moved back to 9.00 at St. John's Field.
It was incorrectly stated that Michael Parsons scored Social Club's equaliser against St. George's in a First Division match on Sunday. Dennis Russell was the scorer of the 79th minute goal after Parsons set it up.
