Juniors dominate

the second event of the Pepperidge Farm summer swim series that was held off Harrington Sound public dock on Saturday.

Juniors dominated in both the butterfly and goldfish division on a day when over a dozen of the 65 competitors were juniors.

The butterfly category, which consisted of a half-mile swim, was won by 15-year-old Nick Taylor in a time of 11 minutes and 54 seconds. Robyn Dickinson (14) was the first female although she had a late start.

The goldfish category, which consisted of a one mile swim, was won by 15-year-old Michael O'Connor in a time of 21 minutes and 50 seconds.

An adult swimmer, Claire Mancell, was the first female in a time of 24:35. The next event in the series is June 26 at Horseshoe Bay at 4 p.m.
