Kyle may play in home leg
the Bermuda Football Association remain hopeful that other overseas players -- including Stoke City's Kyle Lightbourne -- will join the squad for second round matches.
It has already been established that Lightbourne will not be available for the away match against Antigua on April 16 as it clashes with Stoke's appearance in the Auto Windscreens Shield final at Wembley against Bristol City the same day.
Lightbourne had expressed a preference for playing in that match as it is "his dream, like most footballers'', to play at the famous stadium.
But the BFA seem set to request his release for the second leg clash at National Stadium on April 23. General secretary David Sabir was hoping to contact the forward last night. Sabir also noted that plans were in motion to contact the professional indoor players Meschach Wade and David Bascome about their availability along with US-based midfielder Thomas Carter and college student John Barry Nusum.
"I imagine we will be contacting all players who are based overseas about their availability,'' said BFA president Neville Tyrrell. Tyrrell referred all questions about player selection and availability in the direction of Clyde Best -- the man without a job title.
His job description of technical director expired at the end of March.
Yesterday nobody was able to shed any light on Best's current position, whether he was regarded as a national coach or a coach.
"We have not come up with any specific term of reference concerning Mr.
Best's position to date, we simply haven't signed any type of agreement,'' said Tyrrell of Best, who is in Panama with the Olympic team. Best is currently considering "conditions'' offered by the BFA for further employment.
