Kyle's goals help Walsall march on in the FA Cup
season for English Second Division side Walsall during their 8-4 thrashing of Torquay on Tuesday night in a second round FA Cup replay.
Lightbourne scored twice in extra time, in the 93rd and 119th minutes, as Walsall went on a five-goal rampage after ending regulation deadlocked at 3-3.
Still battling a burdensome groin injury, Lightbourne proved his worth, scoring what turned out to be the winning goal as he and his teammates finally came good against the Third Division strugglers. The two teams had played out a 1-1 draw two weeks earlier when Lightbourne scored the second-half equaliser after being brought on as a substitute.
Walsall's victory has earned them a home fixture against Third Division Wigan in the next round of the competition.
Striker Lightbourne has been forced to play something of a second fiddle to fellow overseas professional Shawn Goater of Rotherham in the goal-scoring department, due to the groin injury which he suffered in the previous round of the cup. According to Lightbourne it is most troublesome when sprinting and turning sharply.
Goater, meanwhile, has had no such problems and currently stands third in the Second Division scoring charts with 17, two behind Burnley's Nogan and Barnes of York.
