With our first qualifier aginst the British Virgin Islands coming up in March, we need to get some games against quality opposition organised.

Myself and coaches Robert Calderon and Mark Trott have been busy trying to get things organised and we've spent a lot of time on the phone trying to arrange friendlies against Major League Soccer teams for next month.

Kansas City, Columbus Crew and DC United, who played us at the National Stadium last year, are three of the teams we have been talking to.

All the MLS teams are in Florida next month, making the most of the good weather there and playing pre-season games.

It's a great opportunity for some matches against good sides fairly close to home and it fits in well with our plans. We're still working on the proposed European tour and the visit to West Ham as well.

We've now stepped up our training with the national squad to three times a week -- it's something we have to do.

The first World Cup match will be played on the weekend of March 4-5 and now our Under-23 team's Olympic qualifying tournament in Panama has been put back a month to avoid a clash.

So now we will play our games against Cuba and Panama on April 5 and 7. A clash would have caused problems for us as we have several players in both the Olympic and World Cup squads.

On the local scene, it is good to see the race for the Premier Division title continuing to be so interesting. PHC's defeat against Dandy Town and Village's win against Colts put Village top, but any one of three or four teams could win the league.

I saw the Village/Colts game at Bernard Park and I thought Kentoine Jennings, who scored both goals, had a great game. What really impressed me about Kentoine was his leadership, but then he always shows that quality. That's why we call him `The Bull'.

I was also impressed by the efforts of the national Under-15 side, who drew 2-2 in the Cayman Islands in the Caribbean Football Union Under-15 Championships qualifying tie.

Any team who can get a result like that away from home has done well. And if they can score twice away from home, then hopefully they can get three or four in the second leg at the National Stadium on February 6.

I had a chance to see Arsenal beat Sunderland in the English Premier League on television at the weekend. Arsenal were fantastic and Davor Suker and Thierry Henry were different class. If they can keep playing like that, the Gunners will give Manchester United plenty to worry about.
