Carolina) player John Barry Nusum was named Southern Conference player-of-the-week this week.

Nusum scored two goals and had one `assist' as the Paladins defeated College of Charleston and drew with South Carolina. Nusum netted the match's first goal against Charleston and later contributed with an assist in the overtime winner.

Against South Carolina, Nusum scored the Paladins lone goal as Furman drew 1-1 with South Carolina in front of 2,345 spectators at Eugene Stone Soccer Stadium. Nusum, who plays for local club Wolves, is the Paladins' leading scorer this season with six goals so far.
