One-Two race set for June
celebrating its 20th anniversary.
The race, which has yachts sailing from Newport to Bermuda and back to the United States, starts on June 9.
Making the event unique is its singlehanded first leg followed by a doublehanded return.
Host clubs are St. George's Dinghy and Sports Club in Bermuda and Goat Island Yacht Club and Newport Yacht Club in the US.
Nearly 1,300 miles will be covered by those able to complete the race.
Renowned singlehanded sailor Jerry Cartwright first organised the Bermuda One-Two back in 1976 as an event designed to encourage the development of shorthanded offshore sailing and the "distinctive camaraderie such sailing engenders''.
Since then, the event has attracted an international roster of singlehanders, including Steve Pettingill, Nigel Rowe and Harry Mitchell, all participants in the BOC Round-The-World solo race now underway.
Further details on the event can be obtained by writing to Bermuda One-Two, PO Box 488, Newport, Rhode Island, 02840, USA.
