PHC erupt for win over the Cougars
After being forced to play catch-up soccer for most of the first half, PHC showed character with a second-half blitz to earn them a come-from-behind victory in this First Division match at Somerset CC last night.
A surprisingly large crowd of close to 1,400 watched as Cougars allowed the young, unproven PHC side claw their way back into contention after giving a lacklustre performance during the first 35 minutes.
Inspired up front by former PHC forward Raynell Lightbourne, Cougars had enough chances during the first half hour to bury PHC. They took a 1-0 lead through Lightgbourne after just 12 minutes, but their dominance never brought any further goals.
As chance after chance was blown by Cougars, PHC managed to hang on and level the score by the half -- their goal coming from Kenny Mills during a quick counter attack that saw him blasting the ball home from 22 yards.
PHC raised their pace and ryhthm when play re-started and they took a 2-1 lead when Jevone Sealey struck a rocket home from 18 yards.
With substitute McLee Smith adding pace and fire up front they went ahead 3-1 after 63 minutes when Ricky Mallory fired a shot home after taking a short free kick pass.
Cougars' captain Walie Saleem missed a penalty after 75 minutes that would ahve put them in a challenging position, buit he made amends ten minutes later by making it 3-2, scoring from close range.
But before Cougars could do any further damage they were floored completley when Mallory drilled home the fourth goal after teaming with Mills.

This Second Division opener proved that Parish, revived by the reunion of Corey and Ricky Hill and their nephew Clevon, are going to be a force in the league this season.
Corey Hill led the attack with a hat-trick while older brother Ricky, coming on as a substitute, struck one and Levon one. The other Parish goal came from Shawn Dill.
Parish, despite being in full command, were restricted to a 2-1 lead at the half with Corey and Dill scoring after 34 and 43 minutes. Jermaine Rumley netted for Eagles after 44 minutes. Parish pounded Eagles in the second half and were unlucky in not scoring three or four more then they did.
