Powerscourt in power play
Powerscourt edged Centre Re 17-16 in Commercial League play on Sunday, thanks to the power hitting of Roy Lumley and Tom Leishman who each went four-for-five.
Adrian Kimberley was the winning pitcher and George Hutchings the loser. Robin Hamile and Mike Kress each went three-for-five for the losers.
PALMS beat ACT 14-7 with Andrew Peniston, Austin John and Dean Williams each going three-for-three in support of winning pitcher Dennis Pamplin.
Mike Hoss led the losers with a three-for-three efforts while Paul Thorne was tagged with the loss.
The other game saw Warwick beat PTB 8-1 with Dean Douglas going two-for-two.
Keith DeCosta was the winning pitcher and Randy Brangman the loser.
Damion Tucker was top hitter for PTB with a two-for-two night.
On Saturday BNTB beat BF&M 17-14 with Maril Washington and Alan Winston combining for five hits. Ken Pitcher went four-for-four for the losers.
Gateway beat Sousa's 18-12 with Barry McDonald going five-for-five and Gary Carr four-for-five.
ACT defeated Rubbernecks 17-11 with Anthony Christopher and Gordon Shaw combining for six hits.
On Friday Cooper and Lines got over ACE Insurance 11-7 as Bob Morrison and J.Harrop struck three hits apiece. Dennis Burton was four-for-four.
Bank of Bermuda Cougars beat Oasis 15-12 with Johnny Hasnain and Pat Donnelly having four-for-four nights while Deloitte and Touche beat the J&H Heat 16-15 behind Marty Brandt and Andy Heffrul who had eight hits between them. William Brundott and Larry Whitter combined for seven hits for the losers.
PHC will be holding a meeting for anyone wishing to play for them in the women's fast pitch league this season. The meeting takes place at the Stadium tonight at 6.30 p.m.

SNOOKER SNO The league cup semi-final match-ups last week produced no real surprises with Nationals defeating Sandys Boat Club 4-0 and Sandys I beating Sandys II 4-2.
In the former game Paul Charlton went to the table first and secured a victory over George Conner. He was followed by Kyle Thompson, Brian Walker and Tyler Moniz and they won their respective games over Martin Seise, George Young and Mike Tatem.
In the other semi-final Sandys I had their hands full with Sandys II. In the singles Greg Falzone and Lawrence DeSilva came through for Sandys I while Gary Skinner and Anthony DeSilva leveled the match for Sandys II.
It all came down to the doubles games with Sandys I team of Lawrence DeSilva and Sticks Henderson beating Anthony DeSilva and Gary Skinner and Tony DeSilva and Greg Falzone beating Zane and David DeSilva.
The final between Nationals and Sandys I will be held tomorrow at Old Colony Club at 7.30 p.m.
The semi-finals of the Bermuda Open Doubles will be held on Thursday, March 30, at 7.30 p.m. with Lawrence DeSilva and Sticks Henderson taking on Paul Charleton and Gavin Corcoran at Queen's Club and Steve Dunleavy and Andy Wright playing Dennis Coyle and Brian Houston at Old Colony Club.
SQUASH SQU Twenty-two teams have so far entered the first Commercial Risk Interschools Team Championships which will take place on Sunday, March 26 at the Bermuda Squash Club, starting at 10 a.m.
The event is open to boys and girls under 19 years, and who attend school on the Island.
Each team is required to field three players per match and each will compete in a minimum of three matches during the tournament.
In addition, four ability graded events will be staged and trophies presented to the respective winning teams.
