Social Club aim to kick start season
this weekend as Police open the defence of their Central Counties title today.
Social Club, who failed to field teams for their season-opener against Police and again last weekend when only four players showed up for their match against Devonshire Rec., were to meet with the Bermuda Cricket Board of Control to discuss their plight.
With no matches under their belts, Social Club will take on the might of Police today at Police Field in the Central Counties opener, before travelling to Wellington Oval tomorrow to take on joint Premier League leaders St.
George's.
The east enders crashed to their first loss last weekend at the hands of St.
David's in the first round of the Knockout Cup and will be looking to bounce back with a comprehensive victory. Presently they share top spot with Bailey's Bay, the only other team with maximum points from two matches.
Bay are at home to Eastern Counties rivals, Cleveland, in what promises to be one of the better matches of the round. On paper Bay should be firm favourites.
In other matches, Devonshire Rec. host Police, Flatts are away to Somerset Bridge at White Hil field, Willow Cuts take on PHC at Somerset, Western Stars entertain Somerset at St. John's and Southampton Rangers and Warwick meet at Rangers Oval.
