Troake sets record
Championships held over the weekend at BASA Pool.
Troake, who won one of Bermuda's two medals at the CCCAN championships in Cuba two weeks earlier, continued to shine by setting a pair of national records in the backstroke.
The 17-year-old from Harbour Swim Club recorded a time of one minute and .60 seconds to break the mark in the 100 metres and clocked a 2:15.15 to better his own 200m record over 200 metres.
The old 100m standard was 1:00.85, set by Stanley Harris in 1991.
More than 120 swimmers from all four Island clubs took part in the three-day meet.
Troake also won the 50m and 100m freestyle but was beaten out in the competition for the high-point award in the 15-18 age group by Ronald Cowen of the Dolphins.
Tamika Williams was the girls high point winner in the 15-18 division. Other high-point winners were Raishun Burch and Kathryn Mundy (under 8), Stephen Kenny and Ashley Aitken (9-10); Jimmy Pereira and Rebecca Hanson (13-14).
