Trott throws down leadership challenge
race.
Current chief Neville Tyrrell confirmed last night that he had been informed earlier in the day by Mark Trott (pictured left) that the national senior team assistant coach would be challenging for local soccer's top post.
Trott yesterday again declined to comment on his intentions but has agreed to talk with The Royal Gazette today.
Election of officers will take place at the BFA's annual general meeting on Monday, July 24.
Trott has been a close ally of former technical director Clyde Best whose contract was controversially not renewed earlier this year, and has worked alongside national coach Robert Calderon who has also been critical of the current executive.
Trott's decision to challenge Tyrrell is believed to also stem from the BFA's handling of certain matters surrounding the national team's early elimination from the World Cup qualifying series this year.
