Tyrrell's last-ditch meeting
leadership challenge from Mark Trott later this month, has called a special meeting of affiliates at Social Club early this evening.
It is not known what will be on the agenda but it is thought there will be some attempt by the association's hierarchy to place their record on the table in light of the attempts by the group pushing for change to ouster Tyrrell at the BFA's annual general meeting on July 24.
It may be an 11th-hour attempt by the current administration to push their accomplishments over the last four years now that Trott has become a viable opponent in the race for the top job in soccer.
The group for change are also reported to be offering PHC's president Chris Furbert a ticket to run against Elroy Ratteray for second vice-president.
While there is also a possibility that the BFA could have other soccer-related issues on the agenda, the odds are that the meeting will indeed be a last-ditch appeal to affiliates to support Tyrrell at the AGM.
Tyrrell did not return calls last night after messages were left while he attended a BFA meeting.
