Water 10K road race.

May 24 Marathon favourite Kavin Smith should be one of those answering the starter's gun at National Sports Club at 9 a.m. in the final tune-up for the big race, along with others such as Tracy Wright and defending champion Brett Forgesson.

Forgesson won last year's Pure Water 10K in a time of 32 minutes, 30 seconds ahead of Kevin Tucker.

On the women's side Karen Adams stands as the reigning champ, her 37:02 just pipping Maria Conroy-Haden a year ago.

A bevy of fine prizes are available for the top finishers, with age group winners receiving cedar plaques as trophies and there are a number of draw prizes.

POOL Hamilton Parish I wrapped up the 1994-95 Bermuda International Pool League with a win over fellow challengers Swinging Doors I.

Parish were spurred by captain Richard Foggo who claimed top individual honours capping the most 50's and the highest total points.

For his exploits Foggo will accompany the Bermuda team to travel to Las Vegas along with Gary Bascome, Dennis Parsons, Brian Walker, Mike Zimmerman and Paul Doidge.

SOCCER SOC Somerset Trojans' senior players are reminded of tonight's prize presentation at the club starting at 8.30.

HOCKEY HOC The Bermuda Hockey Association will hold its annual general meeting on Wednesday, May 16 at 8 p.m. at National Sports Club. All members are urged to attend.

BASKETBALL BAS The Bermuda Basketball Association is looking to hold its first annual Youth Summer League this year. The league is open to teams consisting of eight to 10 players between the ages of 15 and 17. If interested, contact Tim Trott about early registration at 236-0392 after 6 p.m. on Tuesdays or Wednesdays or after 3 p.m. on Sundays.
