Women's Darts League clash on Friday, but BAA roared back to notch a narrow
St. George's won the first double with the tandem of D.Cabral and M.Phillipson while BAA won the second double behind E.Simons and B.Hutton.
In other games, RAA inched past Moonglow 4-3 after clinching the trebles as a decider. Moonglow won the 1001.
Police East took an early lead over BPSA after they won both doubles, but BPSA came back fighting. Despite BPSA's feisty play, Police took the two singles to win 4-3. BPSA did manage to win the 1001.
EEMYC defeated HPWC 5-2 finishing on a high note by winning the trebles, keeping them at the top of the tables. HPWC won the 1001.
St. George's I overpowered Mariners 5-2, dropping only a single and double.
St. George's also won the 1001.
There will be no darts action on Friday because of the World Cup in Las Vegas.
RUGBY RUG Despite their overwhleming loss to Teachers on Sunday in the President's Cup, Renegades did have something to smile about on the weekend.
Led by Tim Madeiros and Stuart Outerbridge, Renegades Second XV squad toppled Teachers 13-6 on Saturday to capture the Vice-President's Cup.
Madeiros, playing his first game in several years, was forced to leave the game when he suffered a knee injury and was taken off the field on a stretcher.
Teachers were helped by Dennis Cherry, who connected on a pair of penalty kicks.
In other Second XV action, Mariners soundly defeated Police 26-0 with tries from Bob Colebrook, Ben Jewett, Ben Brunet and Doug Hasselbring. Mike Gorman converted on three of the four tries.
Police started the game with only 12 players but were at full strength by half-time with John O'Kelly-Lynch of Mariners suiting up for the Blues along with First XV standout Gareth Davies.
SOCCER SOC First Division teams Somerset and North Village have been recruited to battle for the Futuro Cup on Thursday night (7 p.m.) at the National Stadium in conjunction with the coaching course currently being conducted at the Bermuda College.
The match is being organised by those taking part in the Futuro course, involving instruction in sports medicine, administration, refereeing and coaching, and will be free to the public.
Four overseas coaches are on the Island to conduct the course and include Hugo Salcedo of the United States, Scotsman George Cummings, Canadian Rudy Gittens and Jochen Figge of Germany.
Dandy Town will hold a meeting and training session for all Mini-Minor, Minor, Bantam and Junior players tomorrow at St. John's field at 5.30 p.m.
TABLE TENNIS TEN The league season opens tonight with champions Hamilton Parish taking on the youngsters from St. George's Community Centre.
Elsewhere, Eastern Stars are home to West Indian Association, Southampton Princess I face new team Christian Rovers, Wolves play Bermuda College, Social Club go to the board against BAA, The Centre host Southampton Princess II, and Prison Officers meet Cleveland.
All matches start at 7.30 p.m.
CRICKET CRI The Bermuda Cricket Umpires Association will hold a meeting today at the Department of Youth, Sport and Recreation boardroom at 7.30 p.m.
