World Cup players rarin' to go
British Virgin Islands and we're all raring to go after our Florida tour.
The big plus from our training exercise in Orlando and the six games our squads played against strong opposition was that it allowed us to see where we are and how far we need to go to catch up with others.
There were some good performances from young players who have made their claims for selection -- and there would probably have been more, if youngsters like John Barry Nusum had been able to get time off school.
We must find a way to expose all of our sportsmen and women to overseas opposition more often. It is the one thing they need to improve and make the most of their ability.
The facilities we saw over there were a different class. The complex of five or six soccer pitches, all in immaculate condition, at Altamonte Springs, was perfect for training. You can see why the US women's team use it as their base.
And Miami Fusion's 20,000-capacity Lockhart Stadium is also just the type of thing we could do with here in Bermuda. It was just a nice arena for playing football with an excellent playing surface.
We could even learn a lot from the single grandstand at the University of South Florida in Tampa. It is a very basic construction and doesn't look like it was too expensive to put up.
We need to go over there and look at these facilites and work towards finding a way of getting something similar over here.
I know from my playing days that when you go out to play in a nice stadium, it makes you feel proud about yourself and proud to play in such a venue.
Everybody who came back from the tour is fit and well and came through local games at the weekend unscathed, so now we can name a full strength squad for Sunday.
It'll be great to have our four professionals back with the squad. Meshach Wade and David Bascome were due to fly here yesterday from the US.
Shaun Goater and Kyle Lightbourne will fly from England to the British Virgin Islands and will meet up with the rest of us there. They should be there when we arrive on Thursday.
Our main aim for the away leg on Sunday is not to lose. Obviously we are going there looking for a win, but as long we avoid defeat then we'll come out of the BVI in a good position to advance, with the home leg to come on March 19.
I saw PHC beat Vasco 3-2 last Friday night and PHC are now well in control of the title race, particularly after their main challengers Village lost 3-1 to Trojans.
