Hood beat Dogs to stay top
Robin Hood came away from St. John's with a hard fought 1-0 win over Tuff Dogs to stay top of the Commercial league on goal difference over BAA who came from behind to edge Lobster Pot 2-1.
Tuff Dogs were up for the challenge from the first whistle with hard but fair tackles the main feature of the goalless first half.
Just before the interval, the Hood suffered a real blow when top scorer, Steven Simons broke his nose in an aerial challenge with the Dogs keeper.
His half-time replacement, veteran sharpshooter, Des Minors broke the deadlock with what proved the winner, with almost his first touch.
From a corner kick, David Outerbridge headed onto the bar and Minors was the first to react.
Meanwhile BAA edged out Lobster Pot in a closely-fought battle. Pot started much the brighter and it was no surprise when Tom Cusack opened the scoring with a wonderful solo effort, beating three Wanderers defenders before slotting home.
Pot continued to have the upper hand but Wanderers equalised against the run of play when Wayne Clapham turned in Martin Jones cross-shot to leave the score 1-1 at the break.
The second-half was much closer and the outcome was decided with a flowing BAA move ending in Dave Gibbs backheeling into the onrushing path of Jones who crashed the ball high into the roof of the net.
Pot pushed forward for an equaliser only to be denied by a wonderful save from BAA keeper Tony Ward. Reigning A league champions MR Onions romped to an 8-0 victory over Prospect/Fire. Nick Briggs grabbed a hat-trick, Eoghan O'Dwyer and Naille Baillie got two apiece while Gary Garnett completed the rout.
Key West Rangers have the bragging rights over local rivals Dandy Town Roots as they came away with a 2-1 victory at Bernard Park.
Key West, who blew a golden opportunity in the first-half, took a deserved lead early in the second period when Karl Roberts intercepted a ball on the half way line and sent a perfect ball to former Town striker Rick Mallory who raced towards goal with only the keeper to beat and unselfishly let Roberts finish.
Key West then added another with a neat chip. Roots pulled one back deep in injury time through Michael Wells but there was no denying Key West victory.
PHC Raiders drew 3-3 with North Village Rams. Raiders took the early lead with a goal from Craig Crichlow while teammate Michael Trott hit a cracker of a goal from 25 yards out. Rams finally got on the score sheet all credit to an own goal by Quincy Hunt.
Former Manchester City legend Shaun Goater had an off day missing a one-on-one and then smashing a penalty wide. But PJ Coddington made no such mistake from the spot to make it 2-2 before the half.
Rams took the lead through a Kentoine Jennings header from a goalmouth scramble to make it 3-2 Rams. Rams pressed for more goals but Raiders keeper Calvin Waldron had to deny sub Tillman Darrell's goal-bound header by pushing it over the top.
Then things turned ugly as defender Al Thomas reacted violently to a late challenge from Kevin Bailey and was sent off. The game was held up for minutes and a few Rams players were considering walking off but game continued.
With about 15 minutes to go Raiders were given a penalty as it was deemed a Rams defender has pushed Sammy Swan in the box. Quincy Hunt stepped up to take the spot kick and equalised to make it 3-3.
In the Commercial B league Group One leaders St. George's All-Stars won by default when Somerset Bridge Peskies failed to show while Valley crushed St. David's 4-0.

Somerset Extros look unstoppable in the Commercial B league Group Two after brushing aside second-placed MR Onions Real Men in a gripping encounter at St. David's.

Devonshire Lions defeated Pest Control 5-2. Lions started well and carved out numerous chances before storming into two-goal lead.
Pest Control only came to life after in-form striker Jamie Matthew ran from his own half to outpace the Lion defense before blasting in from an acute angle late in the half.
Pest Control went to sleep again after the restart leaving the keeper exposed for Lions to edge up 3-1.
Heroics from Keeper Ashley Dowling weren't enough to keep the hungry Lions at bay and the fourth was added on the hour. Anthony Dyer struck a customary scorcher from outside the box to make 4-2 but the Lions put the icing on the cake five minutes before the end.
Goals from Gary Trott, Clifton Anderson and Dwayne DeRosa helped Dockyard Falcons to their first win of the season with the 3-1 defeat of Devonshire All-Stars who were short-handed and forced to field injured players.
