Ladies Hockey League on the weekend with 4-0 triumphs.

Swifts paid the price for having eight of their first team regulars unavailable, forcing them to field the same side that played earlier in the B League match against Orioles.

Susie Elton banged in the first for Orioles after a pass from Lisa Ray. And ten minutes later Tish Parfitt added a second after a fine pass from Heidi Lynam.

Orioles netted their third and fourth goals in the second half as Parfitt collected her second of the match following a pass from Zina Jones. Then Jones herself scored five minutes before the final whistle following a pass from Elton.

Despite the scoreline, Claire Dorrington and goalkeeper Jenna Robinson played well in the Swifts defence, with Robinson denying the hard-working Lynam on more than one occasion.

Canaries enjoyed another goal feast as they beat Bluebirds, but this time it was only 4-0 following their 10-1 thrashing of Swifts a week earlier.

Canaries' first goal came through Helen Farrington from a penalty corner and then Emma Garon took over, netting twice. Lisa DeSilva completed the scoring after receiving a long hit out of defence.

Cardinals edged Swallows 1-0, the deciding goal coming in the final five minutes through Laura LeBlanc.

In B Division action, Orioles beat an inexperienced Swifts team 2-0, although both teams were fielding a number of new players. Marlo Smith netted both goals for Orioles, the first from an accurate square pass by Fiona Doe just inside the `D' 10 minutes from the end of the first half.

Smith's second came in the 56th minute from an almost identical move.

Canaries beat Bluebirds by the same score, the winning goal netted by Ally Cameron following an excellent cross from Kerry Quigley. The other B Division match between Cardinals and Swallows ended 0-0.
