Dear Sir,

The Bermuda Equestrian Federation should be totally ashamed of themselves over this considerable fault – selecting Patrick Nisbitt over Jill Terceira.

I am incredulous at their recent selection decision in favour of Nisbitt to represent Bermuda in showjumping at the Beijing Olympics.

According to the current FEI Rolex Rank standings, Nisbitt is presently ranked 1210 in the world while Terceira is ranked 640.

In official international results gathered on the FEI website, Nisbitt has apparently never jumped in competition at Olympic level heights!

Notwithstanding the further fact that Terceira has vastly more experience than Nisbitt, the official reasons stated by the BEF for making their selection are inaccurate and do not bear any semblance of truth.

Ironically, the BEF members are showing their obvious ignorance of equestrianism – particularly of their own riders.

One can only conclude that the rumblings of political pressures being placed on the BEF to make the decisions that they have made to be true. I never imagined that the BEF would have succumbed to such lunacy!

Those in the know now fully understand that the BEF is a sham!
