Barbosa on top after opening day

Honours were shared in the TAG Senior Class on the opening day of the Bermuda Karting Club’s season at the Southside Sports Park on Sunday.Patrick Ingham, Luis Martins, and David Barbosa all claimed wins in the three heats raced with Barbosa leading the standings with 72 points after he backed up his win in race three with a second and third.Martins is currently sitting in second place with two seconds to go along with his win while Chris Osborne occupies third after third, fourth and fifth place finishes on the day.After his first win, Ingham finished sixth in the secong race but didn’t start the final race and is languishing in sixth.In the 125cc Shifter Class, Alex Roque and Ben Savill battled for three races with Savill claiming two wins and a second to sit atop the standings with 77 points.Roque is six points behind after a win and two seconds.Ryan Lopes holds down the number one spot in the Junior In-Clone Class (seven to 12) having earned three wins out of three to amass 80 points while Owen DeCosta grabbed three seconds to end the day in second place with 68 points.Allison Seymour and Amber Lopes battled for honours in the Junior In-Clone Class (12 to15) with Lopes grabbing two wins and a second place finish to end the day on 77 points, six more then Seymour who combined his win with two seconds.The next day of racing is scheduled for October 2 at the Southside venue.
