Primary Shoolchildren turned out in their hundreds for the annual Tokio Millenium Bike Series at the Arboretum on Saturday.Now in its seventh year, the series is aimed at introducing children to cycling and aimed at promoting phyiscal fitness and healthy lifestyles.Saturday’s fun event was the first in a series of seven which will take place throughout this month, December and January.Sponsored also by Bicycle Works, and sanctioned by Bermuda Bicycle Association, the event puts an emphasis on participation rather than competition.Draw prizes are handed out each week with a new bike given as the Grand Prize at the end of the series.
The Tokio Youth Mountain Bike Series made its return for its 7th year Saturday afternoon at the Arboretum, as participants took part in a free seven race series aimed to introduce primary school aged children to cycling as a way to help promote physical fitness and healthy lifestyle.
