Default win puts Rams level on top
Defending champions North Village Rams moved level on points with league leaders PHC Zebras without having to a kick a ball during the previous round of Women’s Futsal League action at Dellwood Middle School Gym.Rams won by default over bottom side Hamilton Parish.Zebras (plus 37) have a far superior goal difference than that of nearest rival Rams (plus 11).PHC remained on top of the pile at the halfway stage of the season after getting past fourth placed Dandy Stars Gold 8-5 in a high scoring game.Zebras led 5-1 at the break and then withstood a spirited second half fightback by their rivals to hold on for their fifth win of the season.Aaliyah Nolan, Micah Pond and Taznae Fubler all netted braces for Zebras while Waynesha Bean and Sideya Dill rounded out the scoring. Dandy Stars Gold replied through goals from Rayni Maybury and Kashintae Fox and K’Sheala Burch Waldron who both netted braces.The remaining match saw third placed Somerset Trojans get past fifth placed Dandy Stars Brown 7-4.Trojans led 4-2 at the half before adding three more goals after the break.League leading goal scorer Eva Frazzoni and Dazhja Greaves both netted braces while Deshae Darrell, Sierra Fisher and Sharri Weldon also got in on the scoring act for the West Enders.Dandy Stars Brown replied through Zahra Gibbons and Leah Smith who both scored two goals.Sixth placed Young Men’s Social Club had a bye.
