Former WNBA superstar Lisa Leslie will be on local shores next month as the guest speaker for the Women In Sports Expo.The event, sponsored by Argus, is scheduled for April 27th at the Fairmont Hamilton Princess.“We are extremely excited to announce that Lisa Leslie has agreed to come to Bermuda and be the guest speaker at the Banquet," said Bermuda National Athletics Association (BNAA) President Donna Watson."I think her experiences as a woman in sport is going to pass on to our young athletes and our Elite athletes. She is very excited to be coming to Bermuda and we didn't have to twist her arm to come. I am sure we will not only get females at the banquet but men also."Leslie, who spoke via phone, is happy to be apart of the event and is anxious to come to the Island.“I am looking forward to coming to Bermuda and sharing my experience with the people of Bermuda, I am grateful that I have had this invitation extended to me and I can’t wait to get there,” she said."It is an honour to be asked to be apart of this moment in what will surely be a great success."Leslie is a three-time WNBA MVP and a four-time Olympic gold medal winner. She has made several WNBA All-Star appearances and two WNBA championships over the course of eleven seasons with the Los Angeles Sparks.
