A seven-member Bermuda boys gymnastics team is in Baltimore this weekend to compete in the Mid Atlantic Invitational hosted by Preston Gymnastics Academy.

Outside of the Island Games the Invitational is arguably the most challenging event for the youngsters to compete, with a total of 400 boys in various age groups competing in this year’s invitational. Bermuda is the only overseas country fielding a team.

Coach Magan Outerbridge has done an outstanding job preparing the boys for the event but is unable to attend, with head coach Duke Nelligan travelling with the boys who trip to Maryland was made possible by private donors who came to the team’s rescue with funds at the last minute.

Donations came from Keen Ltd, L&F Indemnity Ltd, a PricewaterhouseCoopers affiliated entity, and anonymous donors who recognised the value the youth oriented programme has on the young boys.
