Crockwell: Reopening St George’s Golf Course a ‘priority’
Tourism and Transport Minister Shawn Crockwell said reopening the St George’s Golf Course is a priority, and Government has been contacted by interested parties. However before action is taken Government must repeal the Park Hyatt Act.“The management of the St George’s Golf Course will be the job of the private entity that takes it over,” he said in the House of Assembly. “We have been approached by at least three private vendors who are interested.“When we passed the Park Hyatt Act, that tied up all of that property. We have to repeal the Park Hyatt Act. We haven’t gotten around to that yet, but that’s on the agenda.”Asked for information about the private vendors, Mr Crockwell said only that interested parties had expressed interest, but promised that he would come to the House with more information at the appropriate time.
