Airport on agenda in PAC meeting tomorrow

Bermudians will get chance to offer their thoughts on the proposed redevelopment of the LF Wade International Airport at a public meeting tomorrow.

It’s also expected that reasons will be explained as to why the Accountant General gave Government permission to deviate from the traditional tender process.

Organised by the Parliamentary Standing Committee on public accounts, the meeting will take place at the House of Assembly Library, starting at 2.30pm.

The committee will hear testimony from the Accountant General.

Comprised of Members of Parliament and authorised by the House of Assembly, the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) examines and reports on matters relating to the accounts, showing the appropriation of the sums granted by the Legislature.

It also investigates findings reported by the Auditor General in the annual and other special reports.

Chairman of the committee is David Burt.
