The report from the Tax Reform Commission is to be made public on August 22, David Burt has said.

Douglas De Couto, the shadow finance minister, asked the Premier during Parliament on Friday when the Government expects the report to be shared.

Mr Burt responded: “In a letter dated July 3, 2025, the Tax Reform Commission wrote to the Ministry of Finance to confirm that they have substantially completed their work and are in the process of writing the reports that will share their findings and recommendations.

“They will be sharing backing information throughout July and a report on July 31 before the completion of the final public report on August 22.

“The Ministry of Finance has shared this letter with stakeholders — the Association of Bermuda International Companies, the Association of Bermuda Insurers and Reinsurers and Bermuda International Long-Term Insurers.”

The Tax Reform Commission was formed under the Tax Reform Act 2017 with the objective of advising the Government on measures to improve Bermuda’s system of taxation and revenue collection

The commission was given the mandate to enable a system that is “equitable, effective, efficient, competitive and transparent”.
