A business-heavy list of legislation for debate in the House of Assembly is likely to give MPs a briefer-than-usual day’s work.

The first day back since legislators concluded debating the 2026-27 Budget comes with the Corporate Income Tax Agency Amendment Act 2026.

The Act aims to add a new source of funds for the agency under the rules of the general reserve fund and the tax refund reserve fund.

Also listed is the Economic Substance Amendment Act 2026 — transferring responsibility for the administration, monitoring and enforcement of Bermuda’s economic substance regime from the Registrar of Companies to the Corporate Income Tax Agency.

Other items include supplementary estimates for 2025-26, and legislation covering government fees, customs tariffs and health insurance.

Owen Darrell, the Minister of Tourism, Transport, Culture and Sport, is scheduled to speak on enhanced government camping facilities as well as the island’s Carifta delegation for 2026.

MPs will hear from Diallo Rabain, the Minister of the Cabinet Office and Digital Innovation, on the revival of the CyberTips internet safety awareness programme.

Tinée Furbert, the Minister of Youth, Social Development and Seniors, will update the House on a hardship fund for emergency rental support.

Jason Hayward, the Minister of Economy and Labour, is to address the “people” aspect of the Government’s economic development strategy 2023-27, while Michael Weeks, the Minister of National Security, will speak on seminars on public safety awareness.

Alexa Lightbourne, the Minister of Home Affairs, will address the House on the launch of a financial literacy programme for teenagers.
